White, Red And Black

As the world gets into chaos,

You watch it from your roof top.

Sometimes, you curse and at times, you pray,

For all this discomfort around you to stop.

However big a heart, however strong a mind is,

They crumble as the pressure builds,

The pressure to become the beacon of hope,

The pressure of not giving up in life's various fields.

As it begins, the dreaded breakdown,

All you see is scorching white,

Blinding your thoughts and vision,

Keeping you bereft of flying like a kite.

Then the life takes a turn,

You find yourself in an arena coloured in red.

That's the battlefield full of death, morbidity and happiness next to none

That is the phase your adversities pull you out of your protective shed.

What follows next is darkness and hopelessness,

A time of disparity coloured in black.

A thin layer of soot on the petals of vibrant colours,

A sign of abysmal truth and in general, what does humanity lack.

It's not just the anarchy

Or thr protest born out of it.

It's the cumulative call of the ones being oppressed,

A calling for us all, to take up the fight with grit

Aren't we all connected?

Think about this peculiar idea with an open mind.

With pandemic, apprehensions and out sadness and so much more,

Afflicting harm on us and halting our grind.

The suffering doesn't seem to end

And we can only be strong so much.

The ray of hope seems to bleak and weak,

That this world is in need of a miraculous touch.

How can I ask you to smile,

To put on a happy face after everything we have been through.

The idea of recovery from inhumanity seems distant by a mile,

As the strength of people of good hearts is crumbling to few!
