In colourland, various people lived peacefully. There were communities of people with the primary colours of blue, red, and green. They worshipped a white-coloured god, the one from whom all the colours came and a black-coloured god to whom all the colours went.
Everyone lived peacefully till a time when a member of the red colour announced that theirs is the supreme and only colour that should be there. Their followers were instructed to paint the town red and obliterate every other colour. A gruesome war ensued and after years of fighting, and more than half of the people accepting the red colour, the head of all colours agreed to live in peace and never to mention the war to the coming generations.
History books were changed, songs were made of colour brotherhood, and so the scars were covered. But the reds didn’t change their books. They continued to preach in red schools, the supreme mission of every red citizen - there is only one true colour i.e. red. Red was marketed as the colour of peace and rest were called violent. Soon, some non-red teachers discovered old history books. Reading the exploits of the red, they were angered and wanted answers. These books spread everywhere like wildfire and everyone wished to see the perpetrators of the bloodshed punished. As the other colours raised their voices, the reds alleged that Red-phobia has spread across and reds are being treated unfairly. They denounced the authority of governments, courts and the civic system and proposed a red rule book-based rule. Many terrorist outfits emerged claiming red sovereignty, killing a large number of non-reds and reds.
Parallel intellectual warfare was also started. Whoever was found criticising the reds was called a colourist and anti-red. The reds started taking refuge in non-red areas, multiplied very fast and started converting other colours to red by hook or crook. Soon, their numbers overtook the non-reds and they declared the area to be a Red Zone, only to be governed by red laws.
Non-Red leaders from other colours started justifying the historical pogrom of non-reds and also requested non-reds to move on.
Seeing all this commotion, the black and white god, which were thought of as myths, descended upon the colour land. They wiped away the colour of all the people and declared grey to be the new colour. Everyone would have a part of both the light and dark and their deeds would determine the shades of grey and encourage everyone to stay peaceful.
After they left, people with the lightest scale of grey declared themselves superior and history was repeated.
Lesson : People will fight no matter what XD.
