Where Night Holds Its Breath
On a cold windy night, an old woman sat by the fire,
She worked needles while she looked out the glass;
Her strands covered her vision like a tiny storm.
She caught a glimpse of an outline, and let out a gasp.
Outside stood a tall dark figure, bent like a sorrow,
Her heart stopped beating. It must be her fate!
Her head met the floor while the wind swept her hair,
She realised it was just a willow.
Her fear was for nothing, but it was too late…
