Where I Am From

I am from half open doors and too many windows,

From cracked walls and impeccable floors,

I am from held back grief and collected laughter,

From sun touched afternoons and full moon nights,

I am from learnt hymns and forgotten jokes,

From half baked dreams and brewed up hope,

I am from trivial everyday miseries and the joy of little things,

From planned journeys and unplanned departures;

I am from moments of past

That hold fast to dreams

And dreams

That cling onto yesterdays!
