What-ifs

Laying on the mattress

as you hold me close.

Your long black hair,

tickling my nose.

I could feel you breathing

right next to me.

Wake up from your slumber

and kiss me below the sheets.

Drifting away in the bathtub

with you right next to me.

Complaining about my habits,

scrubbing my hair aggressively.

I'll sing you a love song

as I dry your hair.

It's just me and you together--

no one else.
