What Do I Do With You?

What do I do with you, father?

You sit there and scold me, oh old one

The resentment you have built up in your life as transferred to mine

My moments of happiness are now tainted by you

If only you could love me the way my mother loved, you

What do I do with you, mother?

How you loved and left me

A burning star never to be seen again

With fading memories and false sightings in the streets

How you have cursed me with your gift of love

To love all that does not love me back

What do I do with you, grandmother?

How you smothered me in your embrace

Yet the wicked things you have said and done

Still grace the warmth you left me with

You paralysed me with your protection so tell me

Mother of my mother, what shall I do with you?

What shall I do with you, oh young one.

You have grown into a beautiful yet broken young man

The weight of the world is on your shoulders instead of your hands

Each tear with each day becomes harder to understand

I thought you had gone with your mother,

You are just like your mother

Just as kind and compassionate

But as delusional and naïve

That a broken man can love you

You come from a broken home and its all you want now

Home, home, home..............alone, alone, alone

I am home alone, I live in chaos alone

I was born alone, I will die alone

So I ask again, what shall I do with you?

I've killed you once and I almost died

I have bled to be alive

I have cried to survive

I have bled to die

I will cry to live, that is what I shall do
