Different shades on this planet

But what I picked was black

Mom thinks ‘tis a disease

And this is where lack

She asked me to try white,

‘This is so fucking bright

It hurts my eyes’

She asked me to try red

‘I’d date my ex instead’

She asked me to try green

‘This is for the king’s pretty queen’

She asked me to try pink

‘For the girls who drop glitter

When they blink’

She tried me to try yellow

‘The leaves crumble into this

which spoils the pretty Carmelo’
