Weaving Dreams

I held your hand before I knew what love meant.

It was a child's game, years passed, and paths divided.

Never said a word, and then you were gone.

I spent summers and winters dreaming about what-ifs.

Just one chance, I pray- my once upon a time hasn't begun.

Let me have my fairy tale, for my prince still awaits.

Time never paused as you were but a dream.

No, you were more- my beautiful past.

Suddenly, you appeared again, so I took a chance.

I breathe in, eyes meet, and you ask-who are you?

Nobody -I reply, and the fog lifts.

I leave you behind, just a little sad but heart intact.
