Weathering With You
By Sagarika Das
I fell in love with you in the summers,
In the shades of your eyes colour,
Brown and honey,
Sweet and melodic,
Funny and every bit of love you had it in you to give,
Even though when it was cloudy,
And raining with no stop sign to be seen,
I fell in love with you in the metaphors,
Of the land waiting for the slow falling of raindrops,
The longing of the lover when things were falling apart.
In the cold of the winter,
I fell in love with you like I finally found a home,
And I will give up any forever,
For any moments I can have it in your arms,
Even with the days,
When the sky is grey and frost,
Because you and I are like snowdrops in the cold,
Holding on to the hope like it is our last stop.
And in the silence of the falling leaves,
When it was breezing in windy autumn,
I fell in love with you darling,
Like it was the only thing I knew,
Naturally and conscious,
Bare and naked,
Home and with whispers of promises I know you would keep,
And even though if you couldn't,
I know we will twirl through the hardships,
Because baby you and me are stars,
Belonging to the same constellations.
And again,
I fell in love with you in spring,
When it was blooming flowers,
On the barren land of gardens,
In the roses I received,
And in the sunflower, you knew I loved,
In the singing of the birds,
To the cosy binge-watching,
I have always loved you,
Like it was woven in my very being.
