We Were The Best When We Were

Wish I wasn’t so observant,

Of the little changes in the close ones

It hurts when you’d act as if I don’t exist

While my eyes are searching for the lost warmth in yours

All you did is giving me a cold shoulder

Now I’m coward to ask you ‘what’s the matter’,

A ‘Hi’ to the least.

One day everything feels alright

For the next week, I’m left with nothing but loneliness

How broken can we be?

We’re far beyond the stage of mending

Reminiscing those small moments of joy

I carry them with me

Treasuring the pieces with all my self

We were the best when we were.
