Waves
By Krati Gahlot
Have you stood at a beach?
Watching the waves come and go?
You know these waves,
the path they will take,
the noise they will make,
and yet you never know,
what the waves are made of,
what goes inside them,
and what form they may one day take.
Then, one day, you look at some people,
who remind you of those waves.
Hitting the hard rocks without fail,
for they know they will ultimately prevail.
They hold tsunamis inside a sheath,
and yet never use this strength against those beneath.
They know to destruct and obstruct,
but all they prefer to do is construct.
They know to fall and eventually rise,
but ensure to come out even more wise.
So, the next time you see these waves
touch you window,
I hope you see in them
your own shadow.
For I have always seen you
set the bar,
& do remember every supernova
was born a mighty star.
