Water
By Linu Job Gaurav
Strong as the Sea,
Calm as the River
Water in different forms,
Clean yet imperfect.
In one swig it saves lives,
In a swing, it casts aside,
A thousand drifting by its side,
With no branches to float by.
Transparent and uncoloured,
Taking the shade that’s added.
The murky brown of deposits,
Or the deep red of lives lost.
Water it holds,
Powers that are unknown,
Of healing and of annihilation,
And history from archaic times.
Of Men and other beings,
of the truths and the scandalous acts.
Water, one with nature,
The confidante for all.
In plain view and the reflections,
Water holds the deepest keys.
Life and death in its streams,
Of the beautifully flowing Water.
