Maye mina!

Nasi ikasu ingibamba ngaphasi kwenyawo;

Ngizwa imithambo ifukuza senga ikhamba imizoka ngaphakathi .

Izabe ingasiso ispeperembe sakoSompera, uNomatjheletjhele!

Tjhidela Nomatjheletjhele lisa ukutjhitjhiriza.

Mhlambe nangingakuthinda ngingaqaquluka ngibethwe mumoya.

Kanti khona yini into engizikazika emhlana le?

Yigezi yani ngingakabambi iintambo zegezi?

Nginghwaya Nomatjheletjhele ngisesonweni mina angizifikeli.

Nginghwaya ngazo zombili Mamazana mntwan’ ekhaya.

Iinzipho zakho zinginghwaya ngisaziqale kwaphela.

Amehlwakho angimanga ukudapha.

Senga ungangithinda nje kwaphela.

Wathindwa ngimi kuzaba nemilomo.

Bandamela Mamakhe ungangesabi.

Angidl’ abantu mina angisinyamazana.

Bandamela ungipholise ngiyabilabila ngitjha ngaphakathi.

Yekeke yosungiqatjhe uthi uyangithanda kant’ uthi: ‘Pongo lala’.

Ihliziyo yona sidhlayela izakuqola.

Yekeke yosungibambe ngesandla ngizwe umfuthumela waso.

Iingazi zami zikwazi ukukghadzuluka.

Mhlambe namadini la angatjhaphuluka.

Ngiqala ungangirhedluli angisidabhalani;

Ngiqala ungangebi wangeba awuzongazi ukuthi ngingubani;

Ngiqala ngemehlweni ekhabo leendaba.

Masukungiqala ivunulo ngoba ingase ikutjele amala.

Nangu mina thatha uzakubona bona wenzani ngami.

Iinkomo zikababa azidabuli isibaya zibulala indethe.
