Wandering Spirit of Jabarri Mountain

Lost, alone and afraid in the complete still gloomy woods. A cool breeze came by just whispering panic in my ears. As frightened as I was, a fearful story was famed in nearly every village outside the boundary of the forest, the story of mysterious death of a scholarly sage who went missing for a month and was found in a lifeless state in the cave of the infamous Jabarri Mountain.

The story of my trek began from a plan, a plan to trek to the highest point of the Jabarri Mountain despite of the warnings from the friends my group of four decided to trek alone through the woods and spend the weekend in the forest. I was quite excited for the trek and so was my group but little did we knew what was going to cross our road in the grove. The trek which began from excitement came to a haunting stillness when I decided to leave my group for a moment and stroll in the dense woods.

After a spell of time, I was completely lost in the thick grove and was wandering among the dense giants When I heard a clack! Sound from a distance but as nothing was visible in the darkness I kept on walking ahead whistling and singing when I heard a clack! clack! sound again, this time a bit louder and clearer. Now the sound piqued my curiosity so I decided to walk in the direction of the sound. Just after walking few steps I felt that someone except me was also present in the bushes. From a distance I saw a tall shadow leaning from a conifer staring at me with a glaring red eye, the moment I had an eye contact the shadow vanished in the thin air. Frightened and petrified I ran to my group to warn them about the approaching nightmare. But to my revelation they were nowhere to be found, that made me increasingly anxious to find them but as I went again in woods looking for them, I encountered a horrifying scene, a stark mutilated body of a bear was hanging upside down from a tree with the blood stream flowing belowground. Again, I felt someone’s presence near me but this time I felt sickened about my mates. As I walked again looking for my group, I found them behind a rock terrified and barely escaping the truth of the mountain they just found. I ran toward them to tell what I just enountered but as I approached them, they snatched my collar and pulled me toward them and told me to look upwards where again mutilated corpse of a wild boar was hanging from a tree in the exact same situation. I freaked as hell and asked my group to terminate our plan to trek and run to save our lives and to get out of the forest as fast as we can but as we were now being watched by an unknown dark shadow the atmosphere , suddenly began to change as it started raining heavily and as the day shifted to darkness had no other option but to hide somewhere safer. We saw a old hutment near the rock where we decided to spend night till the rain stops and then in the early morning to find the way back. But as the night fall and as we were asleep inside the hut something happened which was unexplainable, all started experiencing vomit, nose bleed and dark red blisters appeared on our bodies. But something was strange, we all saw a dream just before waking up from the sleep. A dream of a godly figure trying to tell something through symbols such as a star, camel, human, water, a child, grass, a jumping frog and a tail feather of peafowl. Miraculously after about an hour of the symptoms we all had, cured by itself. In the middle of the night a loud noise surrounded the hut almost tearing eardrums, a clear sound just came above the hut of somebody walking on the roof but none of us dared to look for.

In the morning, we had the one and only plan to get out of this mess. We went straight in the direction we came from leaving our belongings in the hut. After running for hours, we finally saw bright light coming through trees in the same direction but as we came to the edge of the forest I again looked in the forest a last time and there was again that same blazing red eyes still staring at us and this time the shadow looked more humanly then spectral. It roared this time and it gave us a realization that the earlier night the loud noise was the roar. As I looked into it’s eyes somehow, I hallucinated and I again saw those symbols again. As I woke up from the sleep I was in the car on the way to the infamous Jabarri Mountain.
