Walking With A Dragonfly
By Kavya Venkateshwaran
Homewards, I walked a path,
The path taken by another,
Fluttering in the level of my shoulder,
A dragonfly and I together.
Ten seconds did we share,
Before the obvious divergence,
No words spoken, yet no moments spared,
To relish Nature’s interference.
When I reached home I wondered,
What became of her, the dragonfly?
Did she catch the wind, as she wandered,
Trespassing lands, low and high?
As I succumbed to obliviousness,
I awoke to the realisation,
Ten seconds of bittersweet togetherness,
She and I, one, In the moment’s sensation.
