Vetting Memories

Updated: Jul 28

Resisting the void within

Overshadowed;

How far can you see.

Hate;

That hate within me.

Hatred towards competing,

Competing with someone other than me.

I see it now;

How pitiful it could be.

Mere peasant people blinded by fantasies.

Selflessness is what they lack,

Everything they do is an act.

In utter contempt I’d  grieve on;

For their true self is long gone.

Alongside admiration they seem distant;

Counterfeit thoughts were quite frequent.

Bearing shivers providing warmth,

Reguardless for a while they stayed.

As time creeped by,

Insecurities would leap high.

Frozen amidst their solitary absence.

A voice from within,

Don’t let them down;

You have to fight.

No matter the situation;

Even if they’re long gone.

Devour weakness and carry on.
