Unfortunate Love

Gazing into the clear sky at night

The moon shown bright, almost smiling

She had to run away from the storm within her

His heart was breaking.

Then the waves came crashing, bigger, stronger

But this time it didn’t frighten as much.

Her soul had finally found peace

And knew he was the one.

He smiled and laughed relieved.

The sky was so blue, the sun shining anew.

But a wall has already been built

And the waves could not reach him anymore.

Eyes meet, yet not a word was heard.

Their hearts could feel the ranging turmoil.

And the wind blew a comforting melody

She had to let him go, another piece of her with it.

He stood there, looking at the sea

Unreadable expression in his eyes as she walked away.

She promised herself she will smile

And endure this unfortunate love as she always does.
