UNFORGETTABLE.

There comes a day in your life when you wanna kick back,

Straw hat on the porch when you old perhaps,

Grandkids on the lawn up in all mishaps,

Wanna gather your thoughts, have a cold one;

Laugh!

These smiles hold my deepest days,

In my best John Henry,’ hammering away’,

“We were meant to dig this way,”

My ol’ lady in her chair as she sways,

Wasn’t always a fan of my ways,

Even pulled a knife on me that one day.

Yet some things are forever, some things are not,

Like the love of a God who can be denied naught,

The folly of man envision himself a god while he’s, not,

It’s the things we remember that gave the world shock,

They stay in a place in your mind so snug,

Like who the person was with whom you first made love.

This life has been so Unforgettable,

I go by R now Just one syllable;

I put my treasures on paper even if my scribbling is unreadable,

I keep the image of your smile in my heart where its undeniable,

That’s why, darling, it’s incredible,

That someone so unforgettable,

Thinks that I am unforgettable.
