Life is so unfair

It keeps going on

Without permission

Without consideration

Before moments pass

Before we can catch up

No matter what

The clock keeps ticking

Without a pause

Without a cause

Before we can heal

Or maybe deal with things

No matter what

Life just goes on

Even if you're only left with memories

Even if you're not ready to let go

Even if your lungs burn when you breathe in

Even if your heart is in pain

The sun rises and sets

The birds keep building nests

The seasons change

The flowers bloom and fall

Even if your world stands still

Even if tears won't stop running

Even if you can't move on

Even if you break down

Life is so unfair

How dare it just go on?

It simply keeps going on

Even if you want it to stop
