Under The Tutelage

in the tutelage of wind

I learnt that the feathers fly,

I thought I would become a feather

but that was not because feathers fly!

I had always wanted to be a feather,

its intrinsic property that the world exclaimed,

I only learnt later,

it mattered not

but to the rest, it was all

that mattered;

so I left the tutelage of the wind

and since it was from a famous lore

I let myself be abducted by

and came under the tutelage of fire,

fire asked me if I didn't want to fly

and I, as light as feather

I flied, and said that I didn't want to fly!

the fire had acknowledged me,

I was exhilarated,

and it burnt my feathers

feathers, that I had just grown

for it affirmed that I desired not to fly

grieved, I ran!

from the stream of tears

that I had left,

I received a special invite,

for as long as those tears were to flow

the water will put me under its tutelage!

soon my half burnt feathers were soaked,

the fire was extinguished;

I didn't want to be anything anymore

I needed no feathers

nor did I want to become one;

but as soon as my tears were gone

before the glee came

the fire did

now I could either weep

or burn myself and the feathers…
