(Un)broken

in the dead of the night,

when the wolves cry,

when the moon looks away just a little

from the window of my square apartment,

and the sky colours itself deeper and deeper in blue,

until all that meets my eye is nothing,

just pitch-black darkness,

that's when i whisper pretty little lies to myself

i tell myself, no, i'm not broken,

there isn't anything inside of me that needs fixing,

just some disillusioned thoughts that keep prying by the window,

i left the blinds open for too long, didn't i?
