Twenty Ninety Nine

Updated: Aug 28

Life demands more than just survival,

Had I burned with you in the fall,

I’d have been more than just your rival,

No stars or sunsets would’ve seemed so small,

Hadn’t you revealed your stellar soul to me,

A bed of remorse to lie on as I await thee,

When you call me by a name I don’t recognize,

I know you’re here to protect my demise,

I don’t save lives like you do,

My trivial life—I give to you,

Drink the burden of your peace tonight,

Let me arrange you with my lyrics every night,

When you hold the universe in your arms,

You hold me too.
