Tulip
By Arpan Nandi
Midnight,
Stupefying lights,
A drowsy cafe,
A corner couch,
A drowsy me,
And a tulip in my tea.
Frantic shivers
Lunatic stares
A rest of the head
A feel near to dead
Entwining several neurons,
Or bugs consuming my thoughts.
A hundred thousand threats
A thousand chasing eyes
Erase the cloud before it rains
Rescue the tulip in my brains
A tangled tongue
Few hundred unsaid monologues in my mind
A couple of songs
And one last poem.
A paralyzed half,
Experience to have a body,
And not the control over it.
Having to carry the mass,
And not the worth of it.
Destined to carry the plant,
and not a tulip on it..
But, never mind.
I paid all my debts,
through stories and love
Just before I leave, loosen my tongue
And before it’s too late to hear
Tuck a tulip on my ear.
