Treacherous Route
By Yaso Manaswini
A lie so beautifully uttered,
A vow so carelessly muttered,
The rulers and kings all set to loot,
This world is but a treacherous route.
The air so toxic and foggy,
The water so dirty and cloggy,
Our lungs all filled with soot,
This world is but a treacherous route.
Our eyes are bright but the vision is hazy,
We crave for success but our habits are lazy,
All we cherished have now become moot,
This world is but a treacherous route.
Save your souls for a day that’d come,
When the eyes shall speak and lips be dumb,
Do not lose yourselves in this deceptive truth,
For this world is but a treacherous route.
