To Yesterday

I look up dewy-eyed

As I lay on my bed

Reminiscing back at my life

The child I was;

Impeccable and pure

Laughing away with every little happiness

Living the moments of blithe

Where life were simpler

Where people around were happier

Innocent to the world of illusions,

Ruminated life to be easy

Those countless dreams and endless plans

Clueless of what lies ahead, yet fearless;

Having families, friends around as shield

And home as my refuge

Now, growing up with time;

That really flies so fast

With days getting busier and harder,

Chasing goals and visions;

To strive and thrive

Those happy days of childhood I miss

Leaves me with saudade

Wishing if only I could turn back time

To yesterday, when I was just a child.
