To the Ones I Didn't Know - A Eulogy
By Alethia Rose Braganza
Sit back and witness
All that you have to say for your self
The struggles, the pain… the cure
When tomorrow comes and you find yourself drowning
I’ll think of you
The struggles and the pain and that cure
That you have not found yet
I’ll think of you
And for all that happens
Whether near or far
I’ll think of you
I’ll think of your struggles,
Of your pain
And how you were the cure
Our cure
We look the other way
Swimming away, swimming far
Against the tide
Against our Pride
Into the ocean, into the depths of the ocean
But you are the cure
We are
Ours and Mine
The ocean deep but enthralling
As in that ocean of despair lies your aid
We suffer, and through that suffering we open a gate
As only through suffering can we suffer less
And when it ends, we’ve shared a common place
To the ones I don’t know,
You’re the ones I now
I now will,
Will never know at all
But when it ends that common place, we share a common place
You will be the ones I knowingly will never know.
