To The Mirror In My Bathroom

you've seen me everyday

you've seen me in my best

you've seen me naked

there on the wall

you've heard me sing songs

you've heard me flush my cries away

sometimes you find me funny

and on some days, you've called me pretty

on others, ugly

you've seen me dance around wildly,

serenading imaginary lovers in secret,

and with my light-less eyes, staring at you blankly

you've heard me vent my problems away

you've heard me curse a lot of names

you've heard me cry and complain

you've seen and heard me for years and years

yet you still stay, there on the wall

waiting for me everyday

covered in dried up drops of water

and toothpaste marks

you still somehow make me see myself better
