To Free The Damned

A fiery rip of bonds

With convulsive smoke

Flowing out,

Like the tears of a lover weeping their loss,

The remnants of torment

Delve and peak as they trip.

A single flame

Of imperial means

Lights a child’s bane of laughs

It bursts and it crackles

And the guilty stays placid

As it succumbs to the free

In the midst of fire,

A fierceness grows

A restless soul

Tugging the strings of unknowing control

Gleaming with its bloody eyes

And its black liquid tentacles

It retreats from the shadows,

To be seen another day

To burn another time.
