To Fly Like The Wind
By Alsha K Saji
My body aches to fly like the wind.
The breeze lifts my hair into a dance
And the caged bird in my heart is emancipated,
It desires the forbidden.
The gale urges the green water to dance to its melodies
The meadow grass and the pine tree robins
Joined in the revelries of the wind.
Oh, how my body aches to fly with the wind.
The warm breeze whispers tales of magic that
Sets my heart to mystic lands,
It longs to paint with the colours of the wind.
As the wind caresses the dove-grey sails of the ship
I wish to be as tranquil as the sails,
To dance to the rhythms of the wind.
Oh, how my body aches to fly with the wind.
