To Fly
By Shanthanu Venugopal
Bright colours and night lights.
A circle filled with new life.
A simple touch is a new gift,
Breathe new energy into young spirits.
Raise your voice and arms to uplift,
The solemn soul of a girl who only dreams to dance.
To sing and praise, to love and laugh.
Who wishes not for that which is simple,
Who leaves her home seeking far off thrills.
Live a life of adventure, and let adventure live.
For those who keep their feet to the ground will find adventure gone.
Leaving behind a memory,
A fragmented shadow of reminiscent regret.
Things that should've, would've, could've been done but they went without.
You will forget what you sought to find out.
We are all searching for something, or someone, or somewhere.
Whatever answers you seek are out there,
But only for those of us that are brave enough to ask.
And we that do will grow wings and soar,
Receive new eyes to see through.
Do not let it all pass you by,
Pull your feet from the ground to fly.
