Time Runs Fast

It feels like just yesterday,

a new sapling came to life.

The little one that needed support

is now bearing fruits and flowers.

Barely few months back

only did its shoot grow

Now look at it, full of branches

filled with green

ohh how fast time goes by…

The one that couldn’t handle scorching heat

now gives shade for one to rest.

Birds and bees build their homes

Little squirrels run around.

Feels like few hours back,

mom carried me in her arms,

singing a lullaby for me to sleep.

Who’d have thought within few hours

11 years would pass……

Yesterday’s weight seems light today

But there’s a new burden every day.

I miss old times

When you’d carry all my weight.

Then l realise,

The weight made me who I am.

Be bold and move on

was the greatest lesson taught.

Now it’s my turn!
