Through Forests Of Pine

You proved to be mine,

rhyming through the woods,

rhyming to the pine.

Into the densities, you caressed my thumb,

with promises of comfort, words too numb.

In the final verse, you failed to rhyme.

But I did.

Tracing my way back to the time.

Preserving your words, the rhythm that was lost,

into the horizon that never ends, even on a cost.

Wish I could talk to the woods, the home you belong

Wish I could tell you aloud, "before you perish,

take me along”
