5. Those Were The Days

Sliding down the sand hills

Always looking for thrills

Kicking football in the sand

Cycling fast with no hands

Keep spiders in match boxes

Catching frogs in swampy land

Frolic around mining pools

Rushing for the bus to school

Making cakes the nonya way

Have fun while parents are away

From Section one to fourteen

Raging pubescence to teens

Noisy house parties on weekends

Some learn dancing beforehand

Foxtrot waltz offbeat chacha

Starlit nights at campfires

There are tomboys & naughty boys Some sophisticated some are coy

Five teenagers think its no big deal Walk all the way up Frasers Hill

With time adulthood beckons

Soon we follow separate beacons

We bid each other farewell

Hope to meet with stories to tell

Now we are in our evening years

Can still laugh till we see our tears A memorable lunch together

Sharing care for one another
