Thirty years of Solitude

Original Submission by Anirban Sen

Thirty years of Solitude

Years drift; it felt like yesterday, pristine, gasping, and animated

Sometimes whack, sometimes mum, but do those years of mine still subsist

Ten years of nescience, ten years of euphoria, five years of hedonistic deeds

And finally epiphany of five, life, lived with profundity or solitude of mine

Estranged, perversion, and muzzle, hardly left unturned

Still reconcile, so I chose solitude over seclusion

Doors closed, confidants morph into recollection

Still I assemble, all the sensory riches of mine, speculated

And so unperturbed, days gone, long forsaken, ashes remain

Like the mausoleum of that grandmother, whose gentle graze can still be felt?

But better kept it unscathed, so my formative years be

How one chose it or is it bestowed?

All those expeditions, insights, ordeal delineate sinuous silhouette

Three decades more may the autumn wait, or may the spring whimper

But those years will be firm as solitude, but not clandestine, omitted

So I compose, substantially, not to vigor, but to propagate

Neither to spell out nor import.
