These Lips
By Vidhi
These lips,
They ask me, ‘don’t you want to be in a job?’
I say, ‘no’ and they call me stupid.
They ask me, ‘why?’
I say, ‘nothing’ and (they) again, call me a stupid.
These lips,
Where were they?
When I wanted them around.
Where were they?
When confusion, was all that was around.
These lips,
Why were they shut?
When I wanted them to speak.
Why are they shouting now so much?
When all I want from them, is some peace.
These lips,
Judge me and my decisions.
While all I want, is some understanding, and acceptance.
Question my instinct.
While all I want, is some support, and a bit of confidence.
These lips,
Call me a failure.
As I am not walking, that boring path, they all here are walking.
Call me unpractical.
As I am not going in the direction, they think, the only right one.
Call me stubborn.
As I do not believe, what they want me to; they expect, I should.
You lips,
You do not know my plans,
For all you know, is how to break me.
You will never know my plans,
For all you know, is how to laugh at them.
You lips,
I am not here to prove myself to you,
That is what, you all expect me to do.
I am not a part of this race, you all here are running,
I would like to walk my path, as I please.
You lips,
Tell me,
What I should be.
Hear not,
What I wish to be.
You lips,
Now an expert in the art of advising,
Have gone deaf.
Now with years of experience,
Consider yourself supreme.
I would like my actions, do the talking;
Not the lips,
Like you!
Shout at the top of your voice,
Doubt as you please!
Shut, surely, you will someday,
I promise!
