There Were Times
By Ishita Dhanda
There were times when I was seeking friendship on some of the most amiable days. That friendship was not the one with people or animals, but the friendship was with soul and nature.
There were times when I was searching for light on some of the sunniest days. That light was not under which I can sit and read a book but the light under which I can write one.
There were times when I was finding happiness on some of the most blissful and blessed days. That happiness was not seeing a baby being born but the happiness of giving birth to a better me.
There were times when I was looking for relaxation on some of the most unstrained days. That relaxation was not having a hot water bath but the relaxation after doing something good for real.
There were times when I was chasing courage to fight on some of the most undisputed days. That courage was not to fight the world for injustices but the courage to fight the anxiety within me.
There were times when I was running after satisfaction on some of the most delightful days. That satisfaction was not accomplishing something great but the satisfaction of making my heart smile.
And lastly there were times when I was craving for love on some of the most pleasant and loveable days. That craving was not to be loved by a charmer or the family but the craving was to love everyone and everything in the universe.
