there is no invisible string between us

yet i am drawn to you still

you were an unexpected surprise

yet the brightest moment in time

solitary love is most painful when it is

known to be temporary.

pieces of my soul you will always carry

our lives intertwine like string you cannot untie

distance does not make my heart grow fonder

my anger festers like an untamed flame

burning, licking, and biting at the wounds you left me.
