There Is No Devil, There Is No God

Yes, I was a believer

A believer in the Almighty

From the beginning of time

He was a part of me

The only God I prayed to

The only one I admired

He promised me the light

But he cast me aside

Dumped in a valley I awoke

In a chasm with no sight

I knew not what I had done

To find myself inside

For far too long I cried his name

But my trust in him was done

For far too long I awaited

With the faith in him gone

There came no one to find me

Nor did his light reach my eyes

Having lost faith in the Almighty

Faith in myself helped me rise

When I came out from the abyss

The world outside had changed

Those I thought were my own

Started calling me deranged

My loved ones cast me aside

They said the devil possessed my heart

Little did they know that I believed

But the Almighty tore me apart

Thus I say this and I say it aloud

There is no devil, There is no god

A creation of man it is all

There is no devil, There is no god

For neither answered my call
