Compassion; mercy; forgiveness:

There is a terrible beauty in violence

The deepest sadness is where you find

The most poetic words

Mayibuye

There is a terrible beauty in violence

Was it all in vain?

They have taken my land away

Mayibuye

There is a terrible beauty in violence

They demand that forgiveness is

Staying out of my land

Mayibuye

I yearn to return to a home

Which I cannot call home:

There is a terrible violence in beauty
