The World Through The Eyes of A Child

I wake up every morning, as happy as can be

So much in this beautiful world for me to see!

There are so many things that I could do

Will I have time for at least a few?

I can play in the garden with all my friends

Enjoy the colorful flowers and the scent they send

Why do the flowers fade so fast

Can't we do something to make them last?

The birds say something to me with their twitter

Can't we all speak one language to understand better?

The sun blazes down and makes me say

Why can't it snow here for a day!

I can go with my daddy down the street

Wave to neighbors and friends, whom I so love to meet

Why are some houses so big and some so small?

Why do some people have no house at all?

I go to my mummy, so wise and kind

Ask her all the questions I have in my mind

And she tells me as she smiles and draws me near,

That's the mystery of the world, my dear!
