The Woods
By Nishtha Srivastava
Logs found a logical balance in nature,
Economical in the sense of help to nurture.
Forests being a premium site of the home wooden,
An eye sight, for years, which was a relaxed vision.
Shift then to urbans, gave us no option even,
To fetch takeaways, making the way back uneven.
Now we have the antiquity of artefacts made out of wood,
Leaving us with realization of ancestral legacy of their "own wood".
Branches natural in front then and branches now,
Amongst the members of family differ today somehow.
Back then they came flawless, this time, however,
Cracks, in relations , are seem to be coming, how? Don't know the matter.
Roles they well carry forward but, individually,
Reminding us to rewind and look a little carefully.
The time in urbans have instances also when Grand mothers, themselves,
Come along with us while we are home entertaining or helping them, being selfless.
Today, the society has taken a direction,
Making us feel the society's changed transition.
Which is for sure a feeling prevailing amongst us,
But we know and must keep to ourselves thus.
Remember, it began with a wood, now it's just the name-change,
From wood to Bolly , Holly, or Tolly wood as you rearrange.
Note of conclusion can be one, to not go after just a bird of woods,
Rather finding your best model you can, and keep as a relic in your own woods.
