The Wind Charms
By Partha Pratim Goswami
Affected by and unending stupor
The hollow minds lie down.
And are stacked haphazardly, orderless,
Hanged on strings like wind charms.
Rattled by shock waves on occasion
They clang together making noise.
At the moment the wave pass through
The clang stops at a gradual instant.
“The silence resumes! Oh sweet silence!
The clang hurts our ears reverberating
In our hollow vessels it echoes throughout.”
The windy open plains rattle the charms.
So the marionettist hangs the charms
In a dark and windless cave.
Here the hollow minds find comfort
As they gradually begin to rot away.
