The Weight of Memory

Such a cliché,

this thing we call mortality.

Scarlet blood drizzling

through fractured minds,

consumed by guilt and memory.

But we walk together, you and me,

sharing the cross

of the weight we bear.

Forward ... always forward,

in search of the elusive.
