The Wary Company
By Leena Kadam
They journey together
Without meeting…
Unless there is a drastic change
(That is inevitable),
Or there is a
Colossal catastrophe.
They commute the same path
They overcome obstacles together
They stand by each other,
Come what may
But they are never Together.
They deal with
The unimportant
Scattered trash of the world.
They remain humble and
Extend towards
Their common goal, Together.
Yet, they never come Together.
One cannot stay without the other.
The second is incomplete
Without the first.
They share a beautiful chemistry
They complete each other,
Yet, they never come Together.
If they are forced apart,
The world
Comes to a standstill.
Life stops.
Living shrinks.
Loss is procured.
Thus, they ought to be put together.
Yet, they never come Together.
They shine in each other’s beauty
They showcase each other’s pride.
Selfless, sacrificing, and solemn
They are each other’s guide.
Yet, they never come Together.
They rust together
They creak and screech together
They tolerate each pressing plight
Still, they never come Together.
A strange fragrance of love
Banquets around them.
A fragrant that can be seen
And
Heard
And
Felt.
There is a fire
that beautifully ignites them.
Their sparks are wonderful
Their sparks are bright.
Together they pose a beautiful sight.
Yet, they never come Together.
The steel tracks
Trace a strange love story
Of whose meeting,
I will forever remain wary!
