The Warmth In Darkness
By Kanmani.M
The glasses I see are covered in frost
The chillness in the air
Seeps in my skin
Eating up every fat cell of mine…
The coldness tightens my throat
Letting no words to fall out.
I shiver
My teeth clutter
I feel my bones getting icy…
The cold pierces my heart
Trying
Beating it
To open
To empty the warmth I survive on…
Blue turns my skin
Freezing my brain
Slowing my blood flow…
I feel the chillness in my nerves
Amplifying
Trying to conquer me…
The mere piece of warmth
Reluctant to stand up
Fuels me up
In the polar territory
Of inhumanity and the darkness…
The warmth,
The compassion it holds
Becomes the reason
For I breathe…
The warmth teaches me of humanity
How I could burn myself
Be the light in darkness…
The world needs more warmth
And I could become one too!
Thanks to the warmth in cold
I see light in darkness
I glow, not burning myself anymore
But chasing down the darkness!
