The Wandering Tale

Updated: Jul 29

By Ruhani Kothari

Seeing the dark night sky,

Wondering if all the stars so shining bright

Are the ones I lost in my past life…

He folk tales my mother told,

Before putting me to bed,

Hearing the tales about the heroes of the world,

So majestic and brave,

Inspiring me to be one someday,

And save the world in my own way…

Oh! Those tales, I can never forget,

The ones that put me to sleep,

Some about heroes, some about villains,

Some about skies, some about seas,

Some about the ocean life in the deep…

Seeing the dark night sky,

Wondering if all the stars shining so bright

Are the ones I lost in my past life…

I wonder if all the tales my mother told

Were all true,

Before putting me to bed

I wonder if I’ll ever be amongst those stars,

Looking down at the ones at land,

Wondering if they’re ever hold my hand.
