The Voyage In Oblivion

I stand at the precipice of life
In the mist of speculations
Beset by questions and strife
All seem to lead me in no directions
Once, life was a playground, simple and clear,
Now it's a labyrinth, vast and sheer
From innocent frolics under the summer sun,
To a world where clarity is seldom won
Faith, a balm for every burning question,
In religion's embrace, many find concession
But while others rest in this comforting haze,
I venture forth, seeking truth through the maze
The stars above whisper secrets untold,
While I journey through mysteries manifold
Guided by hope, yet lost in the fray,
In this voyage where dreams and fears sway
Nihilism creeps in, a void so deep,
Questioning meaning, causing souls to weep
An atheist’s view, a world without design,
No higher power, just nature’s grand design
Absurdism laughs at our quest for reason,
In a world where logic is treason
For in the end, we encounter nothingness,
The final truth, stark and relentless
It’s foolish to ask questions of the unknown,
Beyond human consciousness, never shown
Yet we wander, with beliefs we hold tight,
In the face of the infinite night
Every human, a free being, to believe or to doubt,
To dream up the cosmos, or figure it out
In the grand scheme, it won't matter much,
For death is the equalizer, untouched by such
In the silence of existence, where meanings collide,
Even this writing, in its fleeting pride,
Holds no sway over the cosmic dance,
Just another echo in life's relentless trance.
For in the void of oblivion, I shall find
The strength within, the peace of mind
A voyage of the soul, profound and deep,
Where life's greatest treasures are for me to keep.
