The Voices Within

There’s a voice in my head

crying screams of angst,

making every path I take, look scary and thin

but then there’s a voice

projecting the satisfaction of when

I would finally be able to win.

There’s a voice of restlessness,

of confusions and questions

of unknown paths that I can’t see

but then there’s a voice

of warmth and compassion

showing how beautiful and adventurous

these mysteries can be.

There’s a voice in my head

that shouts in fear

but then there’s a voice

which gives me the loudest cheer

and so I thank every voice

that starts to count the abilities I lack

for they always trigger a voice of faith,

of gratitude, of credence

and the strength that pulls me back.
