The Unsaid Ballad Of The Archer And The Fox

Life stood still

Time extinct

Chatters shunned

Eyes blinked

A ballad left untold,

Of the archer and the fox.

The archer, honour behold,

The fox, sly yet gentle

Curiosity arose,

How did the tale end?

Did it break?

Or did it mend?

The archer set out,

For the hunt that awaits.

To return with glory,

Through the open gates.

Beneath the pale moon

Of the northern skies,

Where glistening rivers

Slowly rise,

The archer met

The fox at last.

Her steps graceful

On the icy ground,

His aim was firm,

No flaw found.

Yet in her eyes,

No fear remained,

Only something

That softly gained.

But fate was carved

In a cold stone,

That no heart

Has ever known.

A whispered curse

In winter air,

That took its price

From love laid bare.

For love wasn't

Enough to save,

Nor guard against

The path it gave.

Some say the curse

Was broken then,

While some say,

She was lost again.

A tale of hope,

A tale of pain,

Both rise and fall

Like winter rain.

For every tale

That’s has ever been told,

Holds countless shades

Of warmth and cold.
