The Unmapped Mile

You come to crossroads

And you read the inscription

Carved into stone

On the side of the road.

Turn to the right

And there you will be:

Picked up and carried,

Led to a carriage.

This carriage that takes you

Along straight polished road

To the place in a valley

That you'll be calling your home.

Turn to the left

And there you find

A carriage awaiting.

This carriage you drive

Along long winding road

To the place up the mountains

That you'll be calling your home.

Go straight if you dare

And there you find

No roads or signs,

Whitewater rapids,

Boulders and cliffs

And a million-year jungle.

You'll cut your way through

You will fall and you will drown

But you'll build your own way

You'll build your own road

And whatever the place

You'll find for your heart

That will be the place

You’ll call your home land.
